all together now-----
ITS A CULT
an elderly sister passed away recently.
family came to her memorial service from all over the country.
some of them, including grown-up, disfellowshipped children of hers, also came.
all together now-----
ITS A CULT
..that the governing body are only in it for money and power?.
how many of you think the gb are all/some are sincere?.
okay, i know this has been asked before but i can't find the thread and there are newbies here.....and i like the sound of my own voice.
i firmly believe the GB members really think they are the faithful and discrete slave. Gods sole channel of communication with mankind.
but i also firmly believe there is no god--so those guys are just self-deluded twats running a micro religion that is the laughing stock of the rest of the world.
a scotsman's cell-phone rings when he's sitting in a cafe with his wife.
when he answers, he says, "aye", and for the next few minutes he just keeps responding to everything the caller is apparently asking, by saying "aye".
the other customers are puzzled by the conversation taking place.. when he ends the call, his wife stares at him inquisitively.. "what's wrong?
i dont beleeeeeeeeve it

the "end" of mankind, which has been long predicted by jehovah's witnesses, could happen as soon as this year - according to latest announcement from the christian religion.. in the latest edition of jehovah's witnesses monthly publication watchtower, an article translated into 700 languages - urges people to join the religion or face certain death when god sends his forces from the heavens to "remove all world leaders," "exterminate his enemies" and "rid the world of satan".. critics have lambasted the warning of a coming armageddon as yet another "failed prediction" by the religion, which has previously delivered similar alerts such as a foretold apocalypse in 1975.. indeed, jehovah's witnesses have been warning people of the need to recognise jehovah or face certain death when the "end" comes for more than 100 years.. the christian-based religion was founded in the 1870s by charles taze russell in pittsburgh, pennsylvania, us, as an offshoot from the bible studies movement.. today, there are 8.2million jehovah's witness evangelists, while 19.9 million celebrated their annual memorial festival marking christ's death - worldwide in 2014.. followers do not believe in military service and will not accept blood transfusions.. in a new eight-page article, watchtower said jehovah's witness leaders are now "convinced" humans are in their "final days" before the armageddon.. they cite an increase in global armed conflict, such as the rise of the islamic state terror group, as well as natural disasters such as volcanoes and earthquakes.. the lengthy article, written by an unnamed author, said: "will god let humans continue to dominate one another and threaten the future of mankind?
no, as we have seen, he will step in and bring an end to centuries of misery and oppression.
so we all know that "crazy" brother or sister.
every kingdom hall has one.
they give the best comments (from a hilarious perspective), have experiences with the "demons", but most importantly, they are on about 10 deifferent kinds of medications.
even if you don't regard yourself as a practicing jw, some may view you simply as inactive, a lost sheep, etc.. if you were baptized but not disfellowshipped or disassociated, you may still be a jw---right?
your thoughts please..
i resigned in 71--never thought of myself as in any religion after that. occcasionally attended a meeting to stop my born in wife nagging me to detonation point.
she divorced me in 81--so no more boring arse-flattening meetings for me.
i attended a relatives wedding ceremony in a local kingdumb hall a few years later--but that whole family are long gone from the cult now.
last attendance was in 98--my late mothers funeral in the crematorium--but purely to support my jw dad--who had just had a cancer op.
it must be interesting what some of you put on "official" forms if theres a box for religion. i write--none.
there are many on here who state specific changes in wt publications have caused them to start questioning (understandably you would think), and yet the majority don't.
why is it only a few individuals that do this?
curious as to what others think about this.
i think anyone who seriously believes their god is going to destroy everyone on earth--any day now--except those chosen few who claim to be in the same religion-----must be mentally diseased.
oh--hang on--isnt that one of their pet phrases ?
what is god's spirit?
.
i ask this of those who believe in god.
i used to pray for the holy sprit to help me stop masturbating.
it worked !!! i stopped hundreds of times. so theres proof the holy spirit exists.
for those of you who left family and friends and had to start over from scratch just to get out of the organization, was it worth it?.
.
no.
i never thought for a moment my kids would shun me as they got into their early teens. i had many bitter years over it. i would say to any father think long and hard before you do anything that could destroy your family.
just in case any reader may not quite get where i'm coming from--i hate that evil cult.
